I'm a fan of nature photography and I like how you captured this place, it reminds me some forests we have here, which gives me a warm/fresh, silence and peace sensation along with bird sounds in the background :giggle:

Looking at your title I guess you wanted to capture alot of light and you did well not only capture the big glare at left but also you can see the light of the sun all over the place (at right and back) which takes me to tell you about another well used technique, depth.

You can feel like there's a natural path inviting you to walk around.

As for suggestions, more like opinion and personal taste...I would reduce the light so you can capture the forest's details or maybe take the shot from another angle.
What do you think?

Beautiful, Iowa reminds me of France you know. This kind of nature, we have quite the same here. Wonderful shoot with a good contrast of lights and shadows !!!

Hmm, maybe while I'm traveling around the world when I'm older (and have some cash in my pocket ;)), I'll drop by in France and make a comparison. :giggle:

Thank you!!

yeah, of course it's a little different because trees are not that tall and so on ... but it looks like something similar so I guess you could like it too. Nature is full of discovery. Thank you for making us travel in Iowa. I went to google earth to see exactly where you live because I wanted to know WHERE it is! One day I wish I could travel there and see all these beautiful things you take in picture by myself :)

Iowa's a pretty remote state in America. I mean, really, there are cornfields that stretched beyond sight, and if you live in the countryside, the first smell to tickle your nose is that of hogs and methane gas from the many cows. :giggle: But, luckily, I have the luck of living right on the river, and there's a wildlife reserve just minutes from my house. I escape there on the weekends to get away from the city. :)

Yeah, thanks for explanations. Where I live there are a lot of farming and nature around because it's a small city in the center of France, so it depends on where you go to find great wild nature place but you can find them. You're really lucky to have a wildlife reserve near your house!!! That's so great! We have a great garden in my city, with a botany inside and great area very calm and beautiful, but if I want to see nature I need to ask some friends to take me in their car ...
A remote state has his advantages too :)

True, with smaller cities, you have easier access to country life and such. I also have to ask for rides when I go somewhere because I have yet to go my driver's license. :giggle: Usually, I don't go with friends because they're not so much into photography as I am.

aaaah I know that. It's hard to find people that share your passion with you. I needed years to find myself!
