I really enjoy floral bokeh shots like this, adding a subject such as the lady bug is really what sets this one apart.

Choosing a large f/4.0 aperture and a very short focal length creates a very natural and soft blur in the distant areas of the shot and is very pleasing to the eye. This is further supplemented by the delicate tones of the pink flowers throughout the foreground and background of the shot.

The combination of colors, subject matter, pleasing bokeh and lighting work well together to make a fine photograph here. The lady bugs red exterior adds some interesting dynamic contrast and creates interest to suck the viewer into the image.

Overall, it seems that what could have been just another macro bokeh shot has been transformed into a dynamic image sure to please everyone by this artists careful execution and editing. My only complaint is with the watermark, it simply disrupts the flow and impact of the image for me. However I really enjoyed the shot and hope others will as well :)

I was always told that a ladybird's spots were symmetrical. Here, I stand corrected.

o: her shell is so glossy and orange <3 She looks so powerful, with her thick, shell, yet she is nimble enough to be held by a mer wisp of a stem. Bugs are so pretty ^^ you take excellent photographs of them. That plant is very intestine to, do you know what type it is? I hope to see more of it, it has such a nice natural contrast.

Oh, I didn't even think of that. That's a little odd that the spots aren't symmetrical...

Bugs are pretty when they don't crawl over you. That's one of my greatest fears. In my opinion, they're best observed from a distance. That changes when I have a camera in my hands. I'll get up close and personal with the poor things. From what I know, the plant is a type of grass that grows up in the midwestern USA. I tried researching, but I gave up after thirty minutes. For you, I'll see about finding some more (I only found this kind in a cemetary...:paranoid) and using it in photos. :aww:

I love ladybugs, too. They're one of the only insects I like, actually.
Thank you. :aww:
